About EPiBi and DermAmi products for Women and Babies
As the first skin-friendly, washable and reusable personal care products specially created for breastfeeding women and babies, EPiBi has introduced the concept of skin comfort for better skin health. Since 2007, Persimmon Scientific has focused on bringing out products that protect the breastfeeding woman from constant moisture, skin irritation, chafing, rubbing (from disposable nursing pads), and microbes. Dr. Hann, who created EPiBi and DermAmi believed in improving skin health by using specialized fabrics that help the skin feel better.
Dr. Hann practiced Hospice and Palliative medicine and fell in love with wound care medicine. Breastfeeding women, babies, and patients with incontinence face unique skin challenges due to constant moisture and warmth.
What is the origin of EPIBI®?
EPiBi was first named EpiBliss™ for “epidermis”, the top layer of the skin. As several skin-friendly products evolved, EPiBliss became EPIBI line of products.
What is the origin of Persimmon Scientific®?
Dr. Hann grew up in rural S. Korea, where some of her happiest memories were of her grandmother's persimmon trees. Each spring, these trees were loaded with tiny, fragrant blossoms. Dr. Hann wanted to honor her grandmother by naming the company after her favorite tree. Persimmon Scientific was established in 2007.
